Suprise!

This past weekend was the 21st birthday celebration of my sister Katie, so we all gathered together for Family Fun Time and to have cake and play pool.
No we don’t really know how.
Or so I thought.
It turns out that my mother is a closet pool shark.
Megan and I were playing against Mom and Dad and thought that we had a chance since Mom would be the “weak link”.
Yeah, right.
It became Very clear Very quickly that she was no weak link.
Unfortunately counting on Mom to suck was the extent of Megan and my strategy.
She can’t make a shot to save her life and I, while sometimes pulling off decent shots have also been known to use a regular ball as the cue ball and not realize it. (It’s only happened once or twice...)
I did make a few shots that were awesome but unfilmed (I have realized that Matt might also appreciate the occasional video tape- go figure.) I have been attempting to put together a tape that won’t bore him to tears.
Katie’s maybe/kind of boyfriend (we are in dark about this one) DJ was there and acting as the resident expert on rules and regulations of 8 ball. Dad tried to give me bad information several times to tip the scale in his favor (like he needed help) but I would call DJ over and all would be right in the world. (This means that my version of the rules were the correct one).
He wasn’t nearly as turtle-ish as I remember him either. Katie seems to like him anyway so that’s always a plus in my book.

All I can say on the games played with Mom and Dad were that it’s a good thing we don’t put money on these kinds of things.
