Shellie is mean

Shellie is a mean person. How could a friend do that to someone they like?
Last weekend we went to Columbia to go to the zoo and stop by my reception site.
I don’t like it.
No. I like the zoo – I don’t like my reception site.
Yes- I know I am fickle- I don’t care.
Since we were close to the temple we stopped by the book store to ask the clerk if she knew of any reception center in the waste land called SC.
(I’m serious, I’ve never seen a state look so tired in my life)
She gave us a couple of names and directions- off we went for an enjoyable drive punctuated with brief periods of time out of the car.
It was SO HOT that day! I’m kind of glad we didn’t end up in the zoo- every time we got out of the car it felt like we were suffocating.
Shellie particularly had a hard time with the humidity (it makes it hard for her to breath and increases her heart rate).
She did convince me that we should “just take a look” at the Botanical Gardens while we were so close.
She is mean.
I love that location and everything about it.
EXCEPT.
The service can’t start any earlier than 7:30pm which makes the reception end really late for those traveling and/or with small children.
I am leaning toward prohibitively late.
But if you could see it you would all agree with me that everything else about it is perfect.

I'm sorry you didn't like the reception site. I assume from the fact that you spent the day looking at other reception centers that you hadn't put down a deposit, so at least you aren't stuck with it!

I agree that it is not nice to continue showing someone something they can't have. ;) It the Botanical Garden available?

How did the places the temple gave you pan out?

they are Ok- the botanical garden is available on the 29th which starts to edge into my training time for the 50 miler Dad and I are doing mid Nov.

Shellie just knows that I love that location and it's just a really beautiful place to visit. next time you're here we should go.

Terra, we all know you love that location!!! All the more reason why I would love to go. Maybe I'll extend my trip for you wedding and go that weekend! ;)

You should just have it there and get a block for rooms for your guests for that night.

Remember rule #1: DO WHAT YOU WANT!!!! ;)

Yes, I am trying to be a bad influence from all the way over here in Utah!
