My bowl of oats

I’m sure you will all be thrilled (especially you flax seed/fish oil, grossness advocates) that I am now eating oatmeal for breakfast.
Yes, voluntarily.
Someone, go check on Mom – she might have had a heart attack!
Due to my recent weight gain my clothes don’t fit and more importantly I am threatening not being able to fit in my wedding dress!
Over the last few months I have developed the bad habit of grazing… and eating all the time.
Since realizing I was gaining weight, which was noticeable because NOTHING FITS! I coped by whining a bit (Jason did a great job of telling me I wasn’t “fat” and that I looked great) and then taking a look at what could be causing this phenomenon.
Go figure – it was me.
So I went online for some menu suggestions as well as exercise suggestions. I’ve never exercised to actually lose weight before I’ve always used it as a stress reliever
From everything I have read, I needed to be eating breakfast. Go figure.
Anyway, I tried plain oatmeal and just tried to gag it down. I tried Matthew’s idea of putting Coco in it with out much more luck. But then my kind, gentle, caring future husband convinced me to try fruit in it and I did in fact enjoy it. He was a little worried at first that I was just eating it to be nice to him, but I assured him that if I hadn’t liked it than it was have sat congealing in the bowl until kingdom come (as my mother can attest).

The key to success on adding chocolate is for the oatmeal to be uncooked and eaten like cereal.

I did that, and it was gross.

I do! I remember eating the icecream off the top and refusing to eat the actual oatmeal. I would have to sit at the table until I finished my bowl, and I would just sit there for hours- until Dad came in and ate it for me :)
