OH, my inate ability to get with in a three block radius held strong, unfortunately when you are out in the middle of nowhere, with no cell phone reception that doesn't really help.
I ended up wandering around until I saw a lady working in her yard and asked for directions. They didn't really help me find the park but the second person I asked for directions was very helpful.

It really was. The carolinas have a lot of really nice hiking areas. Sarah and I were suprised that we had never been taken there as children, but it turns out that the area had been well known as a guy hook up spot for years.
