I thought you were a squirrel

The other day I thought I would go check on my very dissapointing tomato plants. They have developed soooooo slowly this year and haven't really produced any fruit.

I had seen that one tomato was getting ripe and decided to see if it was ready to be picked. I wasn't wearing my glasses as I walked out but I could see that half of my tomaot was missing! Apparently the squirrels out here really like to pick and drag off tomatoes to eat, so I thought that, that was what had happened.

Instead as I got close enough to see what was still sitting next to my poor tomato I found this:
