It's what I do

For the last year or so I've been frequenting Value Village (a local thrift shop) on their "dollar days" and buying sweaters in various fibers. I read online that this is a great way to upcycle out of date sweaters while gaining access to some otherwise expensive yarn.

It turned out to be true.

I've been collected a huge stash of 100% cotton yarn in various weights and deconstructing them, then making some new and awesome out of the reclaimed yarn.

last year I made A LOT of hats. I actually was able to play around with adding colors to my patters and figuring out patterns by trolling the internet for photos of things I liked. I have discovered by revisiting crochet, that there aren't very many stylish patterns out there. Knitting seems to have a corner market on pattern makers.

Anywho.

I had reclaiimed some Aqua 100% Cotton yarn and decided to make Sarah's impending addition a baby blanket. It was pretty simple...so of course I managed to screw it up. I knew less than half way through the project I had dropped stitches but had already taken out rows, and rows and just didn't want to do it again, so I kept going.

So I spent hours, days, weeks, finishing the blanket only to lay it out and realise that I had screwed it up pretty badly and couln't possibly give it to ANYONE let alone Sarah. I had to take it all apart and start from stratch.

It was awful.

I have since finished the blanket but only have the "take 1" photo, so here it is.
