What to do...

I long while ago I bought an ostrich egg and when it came it was all wonky.



Like I can use this for a pysanki egg!

Ew.

Instead I decided to cut it up and make hair combs with the shell :)


Here is my first effort. I think I've decided it's not going to be a hair comb but possibly a necklace pendant instead (attached at the wings).



My question is should I cut out eyelets within the wings? Or...should I paint the wings (as my original plan) or would it look like I colored them in?



It feels like more needs to be happening but when I add more it looks too busy. Karen suggested just attaching it "as is" to a chain and wearing it with a solid top.
Any suggestions?
